Creatives. Bridge Builders. Storytellers.
Whether you came with intention or just happened to find this space, welcome. This isn’t just a website; it’s a place to breathe, reflect, and remember you’re not alone.

We are poets. Not because we have all the right words, but because we can't help but put language to the beauty and ache that comes with being alive. Our work is rooted in faith, formed through lived experience, and shaped by the quiet conviction that God is still near, even in the in-between.

We are bridge builders. We are drawn to the spaces and people that often get overlooked: between cultures, between joy and sorrow, between the Church and the world outside its walls. We believe art, hospitality, and presence can create sacred ground. And we long to see people connected to God, to one another, and to the truth of who they are.

We are storytellers. We believe that when we speak honestly, healing begins. That our testimonies, even the ones still unfolding, can become someone else's reminder that they're not forgotten. So come as you are. There's room here for your questions, your wonder, your grief, and your hope.

Let’s walk this road together - word by word, story by story.
Where This Began
United Not Uniform was born out of a personal story of healing and a growing conviction that the Church could be so much more. Our founder, Krystal Thomas, didn't arrive at this calling through a straight line. It wasn't until her own journey of healing that she truly learned how to care for others. Welcomed into a church home through the kindness of a friend, she encountered Christ — and that moment didn't just change her story. It revealed a calling that was never meant to stay personal. Burdened by the growing gap between the Church and the communities surrounding it — and by the ways faith had been used to divide rather than restore — she began to ask harder questions. What if the Church actually became what it was always meant to be? Not a place of performance, but a place of healing. A space where the sick, the searching, and the silenced could come and be made whole. Her path was winding, through nonprofits, consulting, ministry, and more, but never without purpose. Each step carried the same thread: creating space, building community, and walking alongside those who felt unseen. Time and again, she found God already there, waiting to restore and reconcile. Out of that tension between longing and hope, United Not Uniform was born.
What We're Dreaming
United Not Uniform is not a finished product. It's a growing, breathing community where creativity meets calling and where God continues to shape what's next. We are building something we've never quite seen before: a collective of creatives who believe their gifts are bridges. A resource for churches that want to be more than they've been. A ramp for those who've been hurt, burned out, or written off the Church. The hope is not to tell them what to believe, but to invite them to reimagine what belonging could look like for them. We're dreaming of gatherings that don't fit the mold. Resources that speak to the heart. Art that stirs the soul. Conversations that move us toward deeper connection with God and each other. There's room here for your questions, your gifts, and your story. We don't have it all figured out, but we're building it together.

“I am both amazed and honored to steward this vision. To make space for healing, for creating, for belonging, and for drawing near to the God who makes all things new.”
Krystal Thomas, Founder and CEO
